FYI 5: Jan Vermeer, a 17th Century Dutch painter, was a genius with color and revered for his magnificent design and composition skills. He is also admired for his mastery at using powerful, but sensitive chiaroscuro (light and dark) to create the illusion of three-dimensionality.

OBSERVATION: Even the most simple straight forward presentation of everyday subject matter, can become visually appealing, if it is designed and drawn well, i.e., Jan Vermeer.
